Pepper Poppers

Serve as an appetizer or use as a snack, this healthier twist on a jalapeño popper hits the spot! Using lower fat ingredients like turkey bacon and reduced fat cream cheese provides less calories, so you can still enjoy the apps you love guilt-free.

BTW- you can totally use jalapeños here if that fits your vibe, I just prefer mini sweet peppers.

Ingredients

  • Jalapeño or mini sweet peppers, sliced in half lengthwise, seeds removed

  • 1 package (8oz) reduced fat cream cheese (Neufchatel cheese)

  • Generous handful of shredded cheese (I did a Mexican blend)

  • 4-5 slices of turkey bacon, cooked & chopped

  • Seasonings: onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper

  • Optional garnish: green onions, fresh or dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Slice your peppers in half and clean out any seeds. Set aside.

  2. To a mixing bowl add the remaining ingredients (except garnish) and combine.

  3. Stuff each pepper with the mixture.

  4. Air fry at 375° for 10 minutes (time may vary depending on your air fryer).

  5. Once done, top with optional garnish, serve & enjoy!
